My latest experiment is painting on glass.  Placing the painting with a lightsource behind it gives the painting a unique brightness.  Because of the smoothness of the glass it is necessary to paint a layer of primer on the glass first.  IN the case of the birds I habd painted just the area where the birds would be.  This gives them the appearance of floating in the air when placed in front of a light source.
